چکیده

-Passive current sharing in multiphase converters, where resistive losses are not dominant, is a quite complex goal. In this work, input impedance of active clamp boost converters is used like a lossless passive equalization in multistage high power factor rectifier. This technique allows the design of high power converters by and easy parallel association of power stages. Experimental results are presented, taken form a tree stages laboratory prototype rated at 0.35x3 kW, input ac voltage of 230Vrms, output voltage of 400V, and 100 kHz switching operation. Due to the simplicity of the current share technique, the control can be done using analog control based on the Unitrode’s UC3854 strategy. Key-Words: -Boost converter, power factor correction, current sharing, paralleled converters, zero-voltage switching.

11.6 Analysis, Design, and Performance Evaluation of Flying-Capacitor Passive Lossless Snubber Applied to PFC Boost Converter

A boost converter which employs a flying-capacitor passive lossless snubber to reduce the losses caused by the reverse-recovery characteristic of the boost rectifier is described. The passive snubber consists of a snubber inductor, two snubber rectifiers, and a snubber capacitor. The losses are reduced by inserting a snubber inductor in the series path of the boost switch and the rectifier to c...

A three channels, low ripple PFC rectifier using a standard power module

PFC rectifiers are more and more used as front end circuits for low and mid sized apparatus. Especially for the high current applications, the size and weight of passive components are an important factor, also for the economic aspect. The number and size of the active switches of classical PFC scheme, together with the design of heatsinks must be carefully investigated. A new possibility has b...

Design and Simulation of Boost Converter for Power Factor Correction and THD Reduction

In an electrical Power systems, a load with a low power factor draws more current than a load with a high power factor for the same amount of useful power transferred. Linear loads with low power factor (induction motor) can be corrected with a passive network of capacitors or inductors. The hysteresis current controller is used to track the line current command. Non-linear loads (rectifier) di...

Topology Survey of DC-Side-Enhanced Passive Rectifier Circuits for Low-Harmonic Input Currents and Improved Power Factor

Passive diode bridge (B6) rectifiers are widely used in industry for three-phase AC-to-DC conversion due to simplicity of circuit and design, high efficiency as well as robustness and low cost. For applications which require high input current quality (low THDi and high power factor) active three-phase rectifiers have to be used which in general are dedicated systems fully replacing the passive...
